Go ahead and discuss how people are picking. Did someone get a steal? Maybe they drafted someone a little too high because the player went to a college the gm likes, either way lets keep it in here.

I think the #3 pick of SF Danilo Gallinari Italy was way too early especially since the Magic don't lack wimpy Eurotrash guys that can score.
I think they have plenty of guys that can play a SF/SG type role in Andrea Bargnani, Michael Beasley, Marco Belinelli and maybe even Tyler Hansbrough.
What they lack is a tough big guy to play superior defense and hold the middle. Lamarcus Aldridge does a good job but is out gunned against the typical East contenders that will bring two beasts at you.
I really think Blake Griffin was an amazing fit for this team but I think they went with their fun Eurotrash theme unfortunatly I don't see how that wins games.
I don't see this team being like the real life Suns which is what I think they are trying to do.
On another topic, I think the other 3 picks were all great and MIN got the steal with Griffin. This guy could have been #1 or 2 if those teams needed a PF.

This guy could have been #1 or 2 if those teams needed a PF. I agree 100%... Griffth was 1A or 1B for me.... It could be argued that i even needed a PF more then SF but i prefer the hopeful explosiveness that i got in AL... On holiday i had him third on my board and not surprised at all he was taken second... I heard from many that he wasnt in there top 5 but man i like him alot. Hes actually my predicted ROY although obviously i hope im wrong there. on Gallinari taken 3rd i dont know if he would have been there at 9 but i think it was possible. i just think passing on Griffth may bite a few teams me possibly included. I see him as a 20-10 guy from the get go. IMO a better option would to maybe have traded down a few to say the 6 to 8 area where i think great shot at Gallinari and get bit extra or taken higher ranked player but im ok with anyone that has a plan and they stick to it...

Magic always takes nothing but foreign guys. We should all know this by now, no matter what position he plays.

I must say, it's always nice hearing people saying excellent things about your player.
I know I thought this the last year after taking batum that I would finally have the guy to push me over the edge, but if griffin can start as a 20-10 guy he may just be the one piece I've needed. Given the new lineup will look like so:
C - Jefferson PF - Griffin SF - Batum - backed up by Brewer SG - Lofton PG - Foye

Moving all the comments about picks in the other thread over here I have this feeling that theres more then one player ALREADY sitting at there draft tables similar to Jakime Noah and Matt Leinert saying i thought we had a top 3 guarentee.... Im sorry agent X your fired..... Damn, I shoulda known you'd take Gallinari Damn, I shoulda known you'd take Gallinari ;D...i told ya... yeah I was joking... I dont know the Twolves GM from a hole in the ground.... however... this seems the 2nd year in a row he has gone awol from the league... perhaps its time to replace him. hate to do it to other teams but if he doesnt draft say next 6 hours i think needs replacement but the issue is who to draft.... id say best projected available or his biggest need just fill one of those and then find another guy to replace this manager.... imo

C Andrea Bargnani PF Michael Beasley SF Danilo Gallinari SG Marco Belinelli PG Ricky Rubio somewhat a suns type of offense for the magic

But he's gonna get man-handled for rebounds and won't be scoring as much as he could at PF.
