Bucks, 80 million is the hard cap, you can't exceed it without losing re-signing rights and draft picks. However, after you exceed the soft cap, you have to start matching salaries to make trades. From what I see here, there is no way the Heat can take this salary on unless they trade some salary back.

After the turnover tonight, the Heat must be 18.3 million under the cap for this trade to go through.

Turnover as in what? To salaries going as next year?
Because once all the guys he didn't resign are gone, you take the salaries of Thabeet, Iti, Smith, Kirilenko, Strawberry, Gordon, Cook, and Collison and you have 36.600609m. Add his cut salaries you have 37.066459. That is his total salary, yes? If so, that puts him at about 21m under, as he stated in his block.

the cap last year was at 58 mil... Im assuming it will go up a little this year... meaning the Heat has at least 20 mil in cap room.... correct?

Well he's taking on Granger (4.5M), Murphy (4.5M) and Williams (9.3M) so that's 18.3M. He's gonna need to be under by at least that much. It will be close if he re-signs nobody.

I would imagine that that had been his idea all along, cause I know for sure he wasn't signing JO. The only other person he attempted to resign was Pruitt, but he abandoned that after one try.
That's all that's on the boards, anyways.
