With about 20 games played in the season, it's time to take another look at how teams rank in the Power Factor.
1. Portland Trailblazers (11.5):Despite losing Bill Walker, the team has filled the gap for him nicely. They still look unstopable, even if the Sonics are trying to make deals to keep up with them.
2. Seattle Supersonics (9.55): They're close to Portland, but even with the Amare deal I'm not sure they're at that level yet. At any rate, it will be an exciting season in the West. I'm not sure if any other division will ever win the NBL championship at this rate.
3. New Jersey Nets (6): One player can certainly make a difference. They have a nice supporting cast as Arenas just runs down the floor and shoots threes. If they get a big rebounder down on the blocks, they'll be in good shape to make a run at the division title.
4. Detroit Pistons (5.55): They're finally making a name for themselves in the NBL this year, and they look to be almost certain of a playoff spot and have a chance at winning the division.
5. Los Angeles Lakers (4.85): You have to love that starting lineup: two great scorers, two big rebounders, one pass first PG. I would not want to face them come playoff time.
6. Cleveland Cavaliers (4.15): The Cavs are back and look like they'll be back in the playoffs this year. They are hoping that despite their weaknesses they can ride the back of LeBron deep into the playoffs.
7. Minnesota Timberwolves (3.85): They're division is one of the weakest in the NBL, and they have a good strong young nucleus. With Foye, Lofton, and Jefferson they have enough to make the postseason.
8. Golden State Warriors (2.9): After a step back last year, it seems the Warriors are back. I'm not sure how far you go with Sene at C, but it looks like they'll at least be in contention for a playoff spot.
9. Charlotte Bobcats (2.8): The Bobcats have been hurt by injuries and look to have taken a step back from last year. When it's all said and done, I still expect them to contend for the division title.
10. Milwaukee Bucks (2.8): The Bucks have done a nice job, drafting Mullens to play C and moving Morris to PF. I'm not a believer in Louis Williams yet, but if he can keep leading this team they'll make the playoffs.
11. Houston Rockets (2.35)
12. Philadelphia 76ers (2.1)
13. Atlanta Hawks (1.85)
14 Sacramenton Kings (1.75)
15. Miami Heat (1.7)
