Time to take another look at the Power Factor:
1. Portland Trailblazers 10.9 (1st 11.5): Walker is back and they could potentially have 3 starters on the All-Star team. I'm not sure if that's ever been accomplished, but they could have 12 year olds at the C and SG spots and still dominate.
2. Cleveland Cavaliers 8.95 (6th 4.15): The question is, is Cleveland really this good? They're relying on great players in Gibson and James, and nice support from Patterson and Telfair. The key to success is low turnonvers.
3. New York Knicks 8.8 (NR 1.35): The Knicks were victims to a tough schedule early-on and some roster snafus. With those issues behind them, they've been surging behind improvement from nearly every position over last year. Howard is making a case for MVP.
4. Golden State Warriors 6.95 (8th 2.9): The Warriors are flying all over the court. They're forcing turnovers and scoring the most pts in the league. Should be an interesting post season in the West with so many dynamic teams competing for the championship.
5. Seattle Supersonics 6.65 (2nd 9.55): They've struggled some of late, but still have a great team amid fierce competition from 4-5 teams in their division. Despite their best efforts, I'm not sure they'll be able to go deep into the playoffs without an improvement at PF.
6. Charlotte Bobcats 4.5 (9th 2.8): The Bobcats are slowly moving up the charts, but they're only 4.5 games out of third in the playoff push, so I still expect them to be there at the end.
7. Milwaukee Bucks 4.0 (10th 2.8): The Bucks are still hanging around, but to keep doing so they'll need to find out how they're going to replace CV. DaJuan Summers is not the answer.
8. Sacramento Kings 3.8 (14th 1.75): The Kings are making up some ground after a rough start. I think the lack of talent at PG is going to keep them from going deep in the playoffs. BD is just too old to matchup against the other PG guards in the division.
9. Detroit Pistons 3.55 (4th 5.55): The record is still there, but I think this shows there are some chinks in the armor. They will struggle to defend at the guard positions and despite having players who can rebound, they are not outrebounding their opponents.
10. New Jersey Nets 3.15 (3rd 6): Despite falling some in the Power Factor, the Nets have been making a run of late. They're getting great play from Arenas, but if he has foul trouble or is off his game, this team doesn't have much to rely on.
11. Los Angeles Lakers 2.15 (8th 4.85)
12. Minnesota Timberwolves 1.4 (7th 3.85)
13. Atlanta Hawks 1.35 (13th 1.85)
14. Houston Rockets 1.35 (11th 2.35)
15. Miami Heat 1.15 (15th 1.7)
