2010 off-season was a busy time for everyone, as there were many big signings by different big-time players to different teams who are looking to make the playoffs and grab the league's most coveted trophy from the latest champs the Portland Trail Blazers. Before the free agency period had started the Orlando Magic roster already stand at 13 players, two more additional players to complete the roster.
Team Scouts went early to investigate and take the profiles of some young players that the team could snatch from the free agency, from the list the scouts had given to the front office of Orlando Magic, the management hand picked the top 5 candidates the team could snatch and by the end of the free agency period two went to their lockers in Orlando. The result was, Magic signing in former Blazers young big man Devon Hardin and also got former Tar Heels college star guard Rashad McCants.
Devon Hardin, C/PF
The 6'11 forward/center, who has a one time experienced of being with the recently crowned champion team the Portland Trail Blazers, could bring in his experience with the Magic. Hardin brings in a big boost to the Magic's small front court and with his versatility at that position he could give some additional man power to the Magic's inside game and also at the defensive end. He is still young, and he has much room to improve in his game especially that the team are looking forward to have him as a good defensive stopper at the middle for the Magic.
Rashad McCants, SG/PG
Former Timberwolves 1st round pick in 2005, and who also played for the Golden State Warriors last season only saw a limited time of action. Hopefully, McCants is looking forward of a great year with the young Orlando Magic. Given the exact playing time this former Tar Heel star guard, he can show his capabilities when inside the playing court, McCants has decent moves playing the shooting guard position and can explode anywhere in the right side of the court. McCants adds depth to the Magic's European flavor at the guard position this coming 2010 season.
