..Not UK. Not sure about UC, but UK would dominate VT. Aside from their QB and RB, they have ana amazing LB, I think his name is Woodyard?

Obviously I'm a homer, but I don't see how on earth (besides preseason rankings) people would think VT would dominate UK. UK's offense is one of the best in the country, and against VT's offense, their defense would look very respectable. As for skill positions, UK has every position on offense (save possibly the o-line) dominated...I guess it might depend where the game was played.

VT is decent but not BCS bowl material from what i saw in the LSU game. UK is good but dont think they are BCS either. They are a Holiday Bowl type of team. Louisville is a Sun Bowl type of team.

Something has to be said for Oregon State making the trip to Cincy across the country. It's no excuse, but I also don't think they are as bad as the score. With that said, UC crushed OSU in all phases, and the score could've been worse. UC does play 2 former good teams who suck this year, Marshall and San Diego State, so they should be 5-0 before they start a brutal streak of games (@rut, LOU, @pit, @usf and 2 weeks later WVU). With that said, take care of business against conference pushovers UConn and Syracuse, UC will be 7-5 and going bowling again. I think Oregon State will struggle to make a bowl game this year. They will be underdogs in at least 3 of their remaining games with @asu, UCLA, U-DUB and @wsu being toss-ups. Counting wins over Arizona and Stanford at home and 3 losses @cal, @usc and @ore, they will be 4-4 and need to win 2 of those 4 toss-ups to go bowling, possibly 3 depending who they need to impress, where they finish in the conference and how many bowl slots are open. Well they have an easy home schedule which helps. they pretty much have to sweep at home and win one on the orad which might be tough to do for them. Cncy is def a top 25 team this year. there pretty good. Ya its always up in the air when you travel to another teams stadium and although ciny has never has a big football program we all know they have a pretty big student and alumuni crowd there. An interesting game would be cincy and Kentucky.Cincy's defense is very good. Kentucky is good though too.

I still think Louisville can beat WV.
Yes, I'm saying UK is better than WV. They're a more well-rounded team.

Cincinnati is absolutely loaded as far as high school football goes. St. X, Moeller, Elder, and Colerain probably make up 5-10% of Cincy's roster, and most of the studs from those schools go to Ohio State and Michigan. I'm not saying Cincy is a potential powerhouse, but schools like UCF/USF, TCU/UTEP, PITT, if they can recruit their surrounding area's 2nd rate talent, they will always be competitive. Mark Dantonio started to do that at UC, and Brian Kelly has continued it. Hell, I wish UK could recruit Cincinnati better, it's probably top 5 in the country for high school talent.

I guess the comparison comes from expectations. VT was preseason top 10 and some people's pick for a national title. UK was not ranked in the top 45 by any pollster, they clearly should've been and are much better than many thought.
Perception on rankings is a beast, people think so and so is better due to that ranking next to their name, and in reality, until we are a month or more into the season, that number can be completely false (see Virginia Tech, Michigan and Auburn).

They need to get some Trotwood players. They could have a solid team with that, and the other badass Cincy schools. There's still teams like Hughes, Anderson, and plenty others that my school has no business playing, though still do, that could, well, RAPE anywhere else in Ohio. For the record, since mine and the Raptors' GM's school isn't in a league, the two weakest teams we play are our rivals(who still beat us by 20, despite us leading at the half, before it was delayed), and Franklin Heights from Columbus. West Carrollton is officially the worst school in Ohio for football, riding a 15-game losing streak. Our last win was over Mount Healthy in the playoffs, before we lost to Carroll.. a soccer school.

Auburn lost to South Florida at home, and then followed it up by losing to Mississippi State at home...the worst team in the SEC. Auburn is as bad as Michigan. Virginia Tech, they did lose to LSU and got smoked, but they aren't nearly as bad yet.

I wouldn't put Auburn with Michigan JUST yet. South Florida's not bad. They're the top team in C-USA.

My HS is second in state for football in oregon. We jumped ahead of jesuit who was like 5th in the nation last year. if you guys have FSN you might have seen them play> Jesuit rukes around here and they are in the same league as us. Mike Dunleavy JR went there and Mike Hass went there....But ya Ohio and texas are the two states i think of when i think of HS football.Alabama is pretty big on hs football too.
