Milwaukee Bucks' Head Management has learned a lot about the versatility of this team over the past week of Training Camp. This team is looking to be extremely deep at nearly every position due to this. Though many of the starters have been named, there may be another guy at the same position that would do just as well. It's simply been about performance in practice up to this point.
Starting PG:
Mike Conley, Jr., 23
-Conley was the prized signing during the Free Agency period this offseason, having signed to contract worth upwards of 45 million over 3 seasons. He has won the spot over last season's starter, Brandon Jennings, who was one of the NBL's top PGs with 8.8 assists a night. It's nice to know you've got a guy like that to bring off the bench. As of right now, Conley is the starter, but it's obvious that could very well change by the end of the season, with a great PG behind him.
Starting SG:
Louis Williams, 24
-Williams was one of the league's top scorers last year, and Milwaukee's best after posting 22.4 points per game. He is looking to increase his totals this season, but also know that he has veteran Jamal Crawford behind him, as well as the versatile Brandon Jennings that could play either guard position
Starting SF:
Alexey Shved, 22
-This may have been the hardest decision to make for the starting line-up, as we have many capable guys, but nobody that really stood out above the rest. Alexey was already a phenomenal all-around player and has worked greatly on his ability to score inside the paint. When challenged to make a starter role after failing to do so at both guard positions(his natural position is PG), the 6'6" rookie soared above the rest to earn this starter role. This SF position has even more depth capable of starting elsewhere in 2nd-year player DaJuan Summers, Free Agent signings Darius Miles and Richard Jefferson, as well as last year's starters Jamal Crawford and Charlie Villanueva.
Starting PF:
Randolph Morris, 25
-Morris is the only man to have started every season since GM Ryan Berger took over this team. Since then, he has started at C, as well as PF last season after BJ Mullens was brought in. Last year he posted 19/10 numbers and looks to keep his numbers in the same area despite not exactly being looked upon as a top scoring threat in Milwaukee. His backups include new signings Darius Miles and Wayne Simien, as well as Charlie Villanueva and rookies Brian Zoubek and Alex Stepheson.
Starting C:
BJ Mullens, 22
-After a strong rookie campaign, posting over 15 points and 10 boards a night, he looks to lead this Milwaukee team inside- and out- by showing his soft stroke despite his big body. It was seen in flashes last season, but this year, with more offensive threats, it could be displayed even more, as well as better utilized as a threat to opponents.
