I was interested in knowing who are some of the cheaper and more expensive scorers in NBL so I did the following analysis. I took all guys that score over 15 a game and considered these guys my "scorers". Next I adjusted their scoring to reflect per 48 minutes to put some of the guys playing 30 minutes on even ground with the guys playing 40 minutes and divided it by their salaries. The analysis is not perfect since some guys get paid to do a lot more then score but I figured it would be fun anyway. I assume he excluded the outliers who are still in rookie deals but producing like veterans. That would skew the stats a bit...

maybe, but if brandon roy isnt an outlier, who is?
i'd also venture to guess that JO should be on the overpaid list. 12 ppg and getting 21 mil.

Roy isn't an outlier because he's not in a rookie contract. Thus, he is paid only 2.275M and scores over 17 PPG. He's getting the most bang for the buck.

no rookie deals since obviously they are the best.
nobody under 15 points was considered a "scorer" and thus worthy of looking at.
yes, JO is probably the most expensive guy in the league at the moment for what he does.

How did Roy sign any deal that allowed him to be at 2.275 mil per in his 7th year?

maybe it was the almighty formula, the same one that rewards players with higher greed ratings

That would be a great burn if it was true. Too bad greed doesnt even play a factor. I encourage you to please try again anytime though.

That's okay, Conley averaged a TRIPLE-DOUBLE against me earlier this year, you don't need to defend him.

Just so you know Brand and Roy are both game demands not mine. My formula is a very close comparison to what the game "usually" demands. Roy is an exception, why his contract was that is beyond me. If it was a formula it would have been near the 10 million range. If you hate this system so much you come up with a better system instead of complaining about it so much.

Not bashing on it or anything, but I would be happy to contribute to a rework of the contracts system.
