Ok, so this is a post for 2 reasons. One to apologise to the league for all this confusion, or anger ive thrown out about this new rule. I love the fact that the league cares so much when we come up with a new rule. It shows you all really do want whats best for the league.
Secondly, forget everything thats been said, posted, announced,PMed about ATC's. I have talked with a couple of owners, and as commish this is whats going to happen.
I understand a lot of people planned on atc's not changing this year, and did things with thier teams expecting to be able to put more than 15 into a certain player for the next season. So there is no rule YET. There will be, believe me there will be a rule, and it will be announced by the start of the 2011 season. However right now there is no limit, and there is no re doing of contracts if you go over 15. Act as if its the same thing as we did last year, and the whole time the leagues been running.

honestly this is the best move... i mean i agree 100% that change can and should be made.... ill be the first one on the bandwagon just plan it out was all that i was saying and you are doing the just thing... let the topic be discussed... hear opins and make the best decision and i think thats what you have done.... it was brought up to me that its going to just make everyone spend all there atcs if you wait... i went and did research and it appears they for the most part all get spent every yr anyways... i just think it WOULD have been drastic too make that big of an announcement/change without hearing leagues opin and you have and i think you are now doing the right move... PROPS

i guess its not that big of a deal either way, but altering the contract after going over 15 ATC is a great idea and should have been a rule long before now. why not just let people get their last minute spending done before the first regular season sim, and then start enforcing the new rule?

the contract rule is something that im thinking will go into effect soon, but for now theres no limit. Now by saying that, I hope everyone understands that doesnt mean you can go crazy. As there is no limit right now, I dont want to see ppl putting enough in right now where I need to make a rule. So if I see someone putting in more than I think is not needed I will pm the person and tell them to lower it a bit.

The contract idea is a terrible idea, in my opinion...because of cap management issues. Please just put in a simple rule disallowing more than 15 ATC's per player per season. Next season is fine, whatever. On that issue, I do feel like you caved to a team that wasn't looking out for the league, but himself.
I will abide by a concrete decision, but quite frankly, the contract thing is a ridiculous idea. Just keep it simple.

I started the original post, but after some discussion now understand the need to cap this. For what it is worth I would agree with a decision to cap it.

Yah theres a need for it, for sure. I will keep with how I started this post however, and say that there wont be a limit of 15 this year, but just know I wont allow someone to dump a crap load into someone either. Its kinda like a happy medium, or transition into the next year.

Can we be told what the ATC limit is? I want to put Atc's into Bynum but I don't know what I am allowed (even though there is no rule) to put into him.
I am just looking for guidance so I know how to spend my ATC's.
Thank you, Julius/Lakers

ie you referring to me like dropping 75 into a player...lol jk.. Id like to put ATCs into probably 4 or 5 guys probably around 15 to 25 each guy... NOT ANYTHING unreasonable imo.
