If many of you aren't already aware, the league is going to begin later on this year with completely updated rosters through this summer's free agency period. The draftees are already in place, and are in the process of being created. Here are a few reminders to those who are thinking about joining. 1. When selecting a team, please beware that you inherit any move that team makes from now until we begin the league, and be sure to pick your team based off real-time salary and age information of that current franchise. Use this site to view the most up-to-date salary and roster information. hoopshype.com/salaries.htm2. The draft was run through the game, so although the players are on their real teams, the salaries were generated based on the current cap and the Fast Break Basketball slots, so those WILL NOT exactly match those of the real draftees. 3. The salary cap will be set at 55M for this season, and will increase each year at a to be determined rate. 4. Each team is allowed 4 release years to start the league. This can run through the first season only, and will expire when the season ends and the turnover file is done. Essentially, you can buyout 4 years of contracts. It can be 4 years of 1 player's deal, or 1 year of 4 different player's deals. 5. If you have any complaints on the file, or see any mistakes I have made, please ask about it in the "File Complaint" forum. This involves anything from salary mistakes to bad player grades. Please provide definitive proof with the correction as I am not going to search the net to find it.

A few questions for ya...
Are we having player option and team option stuff as real NBA contracts do? This would be pretty sweet if you could figure a way to do this because I havent seen it in any other leagues.
Also with these 4 release years, I could say "Take off the final 3 years of so-and-so's contract, and the last year of so-and-so's contract"? Can these be carried over to the next year or is it just use them or lose them to start off the sim?
Thanks and look forward to the league...

It would be too hard to manually do player options for every player. Maybe in the next game it will be added, but until then we will not be doing that. Also you have the right idea about the 4 year cut plan. If you want you can even take a year off 4 players. It needs to be done in year one though, or your chance to use the 4 years will just go away. We had thought about giving teams a supp. draft pick if you dont use the years but decided against it in the end.

Right now the only team available is the Pacers. However I need to talk with Mavs owner I believe and see if he still want to switch to the Cavs and if he does, then the Mavs would also be available.

The Mavs owner had originally wanted Cleveland, so if he indeed makes the switch, you can take either Dallas or Indiana. If he doesn't make the switch, it's Cleveland or Indiana. Stay tuned, I will try to get an answer for you shortly.

The Mavs GM took the Cavs so you now have the choice of Mavs or Pacers. If you want either team please reply with your Name, AIM and E Mail, thanks.

Team Wanted: Dallas Mavericks Name: David Aim: davi921 E-Mail: davidiep921@yahoo.com
I was wondering, if another GM decides to resign and that team becomes available, can you let me know? Because I might want to change to that team instead. Is that cool?
