1. Miami - When you have a star like Wade who's scoring in bunches now, he can carry nearly any team. Put a team with good depth and solid behind him like the Heat have, and you have a force to be reckoned with.
2. Toronto - With Bosh inside, and TJ Ford putting up nearly 11 assists per game, this team has the weapons and leadership. With Bargnani and Wallace having some scoring punch, and Swift's toughness inside, this team can go pretty far.
3. New York - Don't be fooled by a 22-17 record. They traded Randolph Morris and they have the big men to cover that loss. They added a stud scorer in Michael Redd. This team is ready to take off, and I would not be surprised if they eclipse both Boston and Miami by the end of the season for the division lead.
4. Boston - They have three stars, but where is Ray Allen? 18 ppg seems low and he's only shooting 43%. I also think the Celtics are suffering in depth. I think they could help their chances by adding a strong SG/SF to come off the bench. As it is, I don't think they can keep it up with their three older stars playing 37 minutes per game.
5. Chicago - It seems the Bulls are always like this lately. One of those teams you look at their point scorers and you wonder how they are winning games. They do it with defense, but it seems like it would help if they could score a bit more. It seems like they average only 80 points in their losses. They have the defense to go far, but they lack the scoring punch to win consistently against good teams, I believe.
6. New Jersey - Jermaine O'Neal was a big addition, and they keep Jefferson and Carter who can score well. They have Ridnour to distribute. This team might not really have the ability to make a lot of noise, but they are a playoff caliber team with some upset potential definitely.
7. Charlotte - This team has everything in place, but they don't have a superstar. They have scorers, and a couple stud defensive players, but nothing really to set them apart from other teams that have filled holes with good players.
8. Cleveland - Once again, LeBron will have to carry his teams into the playoffs. Am I missing something or couldn't Daniel Gibson be getting more minutes and helping this team. Nothing like having a great playoff series and making a name for yourself and then playing 2nd fiddle to a 30-year old that doesn't have your talent the next season.
