The Sixers got the shaft in the lottery and fell from 11 to 13 which pretty much sucked since we did not think the players we needed would fall this low.
With the 10th pick in the draft (acquired from the Pacers), the Sixers drafted their top player on the board and it so happened to be at the position they were looking at...Point Guard Dominic James.
Out of Marquette, Dominic James comes to the 76ers prepared to take over as the floor general within a year. He scores inside and outside...handles the ball and plays defense. While trade talks regarding Jamal Tinsley are swirling, right now James will sit behind him on the depth charge for now. He's set up with pretty good skills across the board:
Inside Scoring: B
Outside Scoring: B+
Handling: B-
Defense: B-
Rebounding: C
Potential: A
With our own pick at 13, we ended up taking the best player available even though we have a massive backlog at the small forward spot. Frankly, we were stunned that SF Julian Wright was sitting there. He simply fell too far to pass on. His acquisition gives us a lot of trade options at SF with Korver, Webster, Young and now Wright. We're hoping the scoring develops some more...but we absolutely loved the defense.

Overall, we were thrilled with the draft. We missed out on 1 player we were hoping to land in the late teens to early 20's. We couldn't grab another pick anyways. This was a great step towards the rebuilding of the 76ers.
