Although the collegiate players have not yet decided whether to enter their names into the NBL draft, that hasn't stopped a pair of foreign stars from doing so.
SF Nicolas Batum of France has said he will enter the draft in 2009 and will be a force right away. An athletic freak, Batum will fit well in an offense that likes to play up tempo. He lacks the ball-handling you might want from a guy who loves scoring, and his skinny frame keeps him from being a great rebounder, but scouts see him as a possible wing star in the NBL.
PG Ricky Rubio of Spain comes in as a great point guard who can shoot the rock with anyone in NBL. He has great size for the position at 6'4, but will need to add some strength to help with inside scoring and defense. Rubio has a high ceiling in every area, and the only thing holding him back from being an amazing player will be his athleticism.
Both of these players will be available for the taking in the 2009 NBL Draft!
