Charlotte Bobcats
Record: 24-13
Key players:
Emeka Okafor Derrick Rose Ray Felton
Style of Play:
The Bobcats run at a normal pace and rarely do anything risky. They play to their strengths which are inside play and just basically make the other team beat them. Not really a risk taking team at all as they rarely turn the ball over averaging just 10 turnovers per game.
Strengths:
As I stated, they make teams try to outplay them, as there just isn't anyone in the East capable of doing so on a consistent basis. They rarely turn it over and play outstanding defense, with Okafor and Felton being premier defensive players at their positions. Rose and May are above average defensively as well which makes it ok when Morrison screams "Help!!" as there should be four other players able to pick up his man.
Weakness:
I don't think this team is without a weakness, but you better come ready to play if you want to beat them. Don't let their record fool anyone, they'll be the team to beat in the Eastern Conference hands down. A successful team had better go very slow, no sense trying to blow by Rose and Felton in a running game. Morrison is the weak link, but tough to exploit him too much. A team with a strong SF and some size at guard might pull off an upset, but it would be tough as the inside play of the Cats is some of the best in the NBL.
Prediction:
The Bobcats will have homecourt advantage for the playoffs and advance to the Finals. At that point, it's a toss up who will be victorious.
