Philadelphia 76ers
Record: 44-30
Key players:
Andre Iguodala
Dominic James
Yi Jianlian
Style of Play:
The 76ers are very methodical, trying to slow down some of the more up tempo teams in the league such as the Knicks. They could run if they needed to, though it might really exploit their tendency to turn the ball over. They focus heavily on the inside game where they have an adavantage with guys like Jianlian and AI posting up smaller players.
Strengths:
This runs four players out on the floor that can score with ease in Jianlian, Prince, AI, and James much like the Bobcats. They play great defensively at C, SF and SG. The fact they're scoring almost 100 points a game running a slow offense is impressive. It is an indication of how well they're able to score. As long as they can control the pace of the game, this is a dangerous team to face in the postseason
Weakness:
Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. While it was a great acquisition to acquire Prince, they just added another turnover prone player to the team. Dalembert is one of the worst in the league if not the worst considering how much he touches the ball. As a team they have one of the worst turnover +/- ratios in the league. That's a bad sign when going up against teams in the likes of the Bobcats and Knicks who are very good at getting turnovers.
Prediction:
The 76ers are a team with some considerable strengths. They've been on a great run since getting Prince and are looking to sustain that into the playoffs. I think they'll have a chance to go deep into the playoffs, but I don't really see them having much chance of beating the Bobcats in a 7 game series. They also have some potential for being upset if they have a few bad games with the turnovers.
