anyone else strongly dislike israel? May I ask what you dislike about Israel? I think they have a right to exist and the fact that some don't agree is not necessarily a reason to dislike Israel. I can understand you disliking the situation in the middle east but that is the outcome of many factors and not just Israel. The middle east has been a war zone back all the way to biblical times so if you think that the creation of Israel started it then you have to read back in history a bit more. The only thing Israel did was create an economy and a land where Jewish people can live without persecution in a piece of land that before was a desert for nomads to travel.

i think many americans are oblivious to the conditions that the israelis subject many palestinians to live in. the rest of the world finds it fucked up that the land of the free supports such a crooked state. being anti zionist is somehow equated to anti semitism to most

i think many americans are oblivious to the conditions that the israelis subject many palestinians to live in. the rest of the world finds it fucked up that the land of the free supports such a crooked state. being anti zionist is somehow equated to anti semitism to most Actually this is usually the statement from oblivious Americans. The Palestians where mistreated by the other Arabs prior to Israel being born and unfortunately now they are used as pawns by terrorists and enemies of Israel to fool people like yourself into this thinking. History shows that as Israel gives land for peace to better treat Palestians or be "fair" the lines of peace just break down again. The fight is not over Arabs but for the right of Jewish people to exist which is why most who understand the issue do think that anti zionists are somehow anti semits. I am not saying you are because you clearly try to make a distinction so I assume that you are not. PS Israel is probably one of a handful of countries to be created by world law and not force so saying that the land is not theres is going much further then saying we should give back America to the Native Indians or even the British. In no country on earth is the rule of who was there first the ultimate rule of who the land belongs to. Depending on what bible you follow the Jews were given that land by G-d in addition to later by man's laws. I am not sure who else they were supposed to ask.

You do realize that Israel was created via a UN resolution and not by Israeli military force. In fact Israel had no military in 1948.
Borders have changed as a result of conflicts but this is not like every single border on the map of the world.
I am not entirely sure why people that are ready to fight so hard for democracy and laws of the US always seem to disregard the resolutions of the UN.

Does Purdue not teach world history? It is very dangerous to learn your history based on just reading news papers and watching TV.

Not sure if you know this but the nice Arab people who have more in common with the Palestinians then the Jews do also treat them like shit but somehow get no flack for that.
I don't see the dozen Arab countries offering them sovereignty to help their brothers.
The fact is that they are pawns and are not necessarily at fault but it is also not fair to take the smallest country in the Middle East and make them solely responsible for them.
