This is solely my opinion. Some may be a bit biased, others not so much. You may agree with my opinion, or you may not. Either way, "don't be hatin'."
..Please.
1. C DeAndre Jordan - Jordan was my #2 guy on the board, behind Eric Gordon, but this was a solid pick. The Clippers needed help at both SG and C, so this pick was really just a throw-up. Can't blame them for taking the big man. Grade = A-.
2. SG Eric Gordon - Eric Gordon may have been the best player in this draft, but they took Wayne Ellington in the first round last year and didn't give him much playing time. Their biggest hole is at C, and even though Jordan was gone, I'm not so sure one of the Lopez twins wouldn't have greater value for the Jazz at this point. Grade = B+.
3. PG Ricky Rubio - In my opinion, the best pick of the three so far. Though they also needed a C, they were in dire need of a PG, and Ricky Rubio, the 20 year-old from Spain, should immediately offer a great impact. Grade = A.
4. PF Greg Monroe - The 6'9" Monroe is the second slightly-undersized PF the Mavs have taken in two years(Richard Hendrix, 6'8", in 2008), and Hendrix performed well last year with 15 ppg in 30 minutes. Monroe is too small to be a C, so, much like Utah, I think they would have been better off taking a Lopez twin. Grade = B.
5. PG Jerryd Bayless - Bayless is a great all-around player and could even be considered a steal at #5, though unless Roy is played at SG, he won't see too much time this season and the Pacers could have been much better off drafting a F like Bill Walker or Nico Batum. Grade = B+.
6. C Robin Lopez - Although I've been rooting for one of these guys to get picked, I'm not happy with this pick when they've already got the 23 year-old Hilton Armstrong. The theme of this draft so far for me seems to be "it was a good pick, but this would have been better." You once again could've taken Walker or Batum. Grade = B.
7. SF Bill Walker - This was the perfect pick for the Blazers, since they didn't have a single SF at the time, aside from the soon-to-be traded Kyle Weaver. Walker will make an immediate impact in the league and will greatly accent Oden and Hibbert. Grade = A+.
8. SF Nicolas Batum - Batum is one of my favorite players in the draft, but with Corey Brewer, he wasn't the right fit. This is where you take Brook Lopez, because you don't want Mark Blount starting for you. Grade = B-.
9. PG Brandon Jennings - I may be biased, but I am extremely happy with the pick I made. I value guys with great defense and he' s got a B+ there. I've always had problems with turnovers, and his A- Handling help me keep the ball. With moving Louis Williams to SG, I feel I have a playoff-contending team in my hands. Grade = A.
10. SF Tyler Smith - This pick could have gone really anywhere, and anybody they would have chosen would not start for him, and the only position that could have been a better spot to add to would be SG, but Smith is a lot better for his position than Patrick Beverley. Good pick here. Grade = A.
11. SF Jamont Gordon - I think Gordon is better than Richard Jefferson and he was the best player available at this time. Grade = A-.
12. C Brook Lopez - With Channing Frye, Josh Boone, and Sean Williams, all I have to ask is why? Why not Jeremy Pargo, D.J. Augustin, or Darren Collison? Grade = C-.
13. PG Jeremy Pargo- The only position that may have been better to upgrade at was C, but I think PG was in more dire need of being added to, especially considering any of the Centers available would not have been an upgrade to Dalembert like Pargo is to Tinsley. Grade = B+.
14. C C.J. Giles - Saer Sene is just as old as Giles and a little better, and has more experience. I think Ewing Jr., Barro, and Rolle are all better Centers than Giles. A better pick could have been a G like Beverley, Collison, or Augustin. Grade = B-.
15. PG Darren Collison - Including Collison, they've only got five players on the roster, so I can't say "yay" or "nay" here. Grade = B-.
16. PG D.J. Augustin(to Blazers) - Okay, so they got Augustin like I asked. I still don't agree with the pick of Lopez there, but this was a good pick for the Nets. Grade = B.
After learning of the trade to Portland, this was an even better pick as Augustin will most likely earn the starting PG role on the team, but they may have been slightly better off keeping Kyle Weaver. Despite his intentions of trading Augustin for Weaver, I think he would have been better off keeping Augustin than he is with either. Either way, I suppose this won't affect either team either way too differently.Grade = B.
17. SF Brandon Rush - With Stackhouse aging, this pick couldn't have been any better. It was really a no-brainer pick for the Mavs, though I think they should have taken a guy like Walker or Batum earlier and taken a different big man right now. Grade = B+.
18. SG Patrick Beverley - Why? You can move Alston or Brooks to SG if needed, but there's nobody to go play PF. Take Ewing, Jr. or Barro with this one. Grade = C-.
19. C Patrick Ewing, Jr. - This team is loaded with young talent, but I'm not sure Ewing, Jr. will see much playing time behind Zaza Pachulia and Shelden Williams. Chris Douglas-Roberts or Terrance Williams would better contribute to your team. Grade = B-.
20. C Ousmane Barro - This is an old, old team right here, and a pick could have been made at any of SF, PF, or C. Barro was the best C available, so I applaud this pick, though like I said with the last pick, Douglas-Roberts or Williams may have been better, Grade = B.
21. PG Eric Maynor - Not a bad pick, though I'm not sure he'll see much playing time behind Arenas and Young. Maybe draft one of the SFs I mentioned earlier, they would play more behind Pietrus. Grade = B-.
22. SG Josh Carter - This guy wasn't even the best SG in the draft. And with only one C in the aging Ilgauskas, why not take Magnum Rolle?Grade = D+.
23. SF Chris Douglas-Roberts - With no very good SGs left in the draft, this was the best pick for the Cats. I agree with taking the Memphis star here. Grade = B.
24. C Magnum Rolle - Move Rolle to PF and this isn't a bad pick. He won't play at all behind Pau Gasol and Darko Milicic, but should see some time behind Hakim Warrick, especially being two inches taller than Warrick or McDyess. Grade = B.
25. PF James Mays - Once again, you don't want Mark Blount starting at C, so unless you plan on starting him there instead of at PF, this isn't too bad, though you still would have better off taking a big man over Batum earlier. Grade = B-.
26. SF Terrence Williams - Like I said before, no gaping holes on your squad, and Williams, who may possibly be the most athletic guy in the draft, is the best pick for your team. Grade = B+.
27. PG Tyrese Rice - Rice isn't a bad choice, as he'll see a lot of playing time behind Barbosa, and if swapped with one of their three SGs, could be a starter there(though undersized). Grade = C.
28. PF Jeff Adrien - Adrien's never gonna play, but then again, I'm not sure anyone left in the draft would, so I'm not gonna argue this pick. Maybe try to get something out of this pick next time. Grade = B-.
29. PG Drew Lavender - Lavender is the only player in this draft that would get any playing time on this championship team, so I'll agree with this decision. I'm not sure if he's better than Greg Paulus or even Eric Devendorf, though. Grade = C+.
